    Jeepers! I never would have thought that seeing the back of a bird, occupying so much space no less, would actually work...but it does! This image has a great story to tell...I love the feeding bird's unwelcoming expression. My only wish is that the tail feathers weren't clipped. An underated image in my mind :-)

    Daniel, the original contains the complete tail feathers and left wing, but I did not feel it was very strong. I kept cropping until I felt the expression of the feeding bird became the major focal point. I struggled with the crop for about three days, and probably will continue with that struggle for a while. --Joe

    Joe: I think this crop works well. I don't need to see the entire tail or wing to know what's happening in this image and the clear focal point of the image is the face of the bird on the prey. I think your crop place more importance on the primary subject. Nice stuff. -- Keith
