    While out this morning with Daniel Cadieux and Stephen Stephen both of this forum, I was the only one of us three to walk over and shoot this Downy am I ever glad I did now, Taken just after the morning sun cleared the trees. Canon 20D w/ 200 F/2.8L, F/5.6 @ 1/640 sec, ISO 200, Manual exposure + 1.0 EC

    Light, details and BG look great. I wish for a bit more head turn toward you. I might consider a vertical crop to include the 'virtual tail' of the downy.

    You sure had nice light to deal with, and you aligned yourself properly for a sweet BG. Next time we're at that location I may spend some time at that suet cake set-up as I like what the birch bark has to offer as far as a perch goes. A couple of hotspots to fix (one above the eye, and the other near the cheek area). I like the composition, but I'd be interested seeing one of the verticals you also took...pretty sure I saw a vertical on your camera LCD??
