Hi Aristotle, this is very, very nice! Great critter and I really love how you have composed this. Positioning of the subject is very strong and I love how you used its lair as a frame. Good DOF and details. Excellent work!

I love it all around Aristotle! I did notice at first that the back leg was almost non-existent in the image so I did a shadow/highlight adjustment in Photoshop to bring the back leg into view. I set the shadow at 60% and the highlight at 14% and this was the result:

My only other suggestion would be to add a little canvas at the top so the circular shape of the cave doesn't feel so tight at the top of the frame. Nicely done, overall!

Nice comp. I agree with Jules about more space on top but personally prefer the darker, less visible hind leg. Adds to the creepiness of the dark cave (given a bug's view).

Hey Ari, cute little guy, and like both versions. Good sharp details on the head. and Good DOF.

Thank you all for the kind comments and suggestions.

I like your version Jules and I will go back and add a little on top plus add shadow/highlight. But probably an in between would work best.

    Cheers
    Ari
