I almost forgot about these images that I made on Christmas day while walking off the turkey dinner. :D Most of you thought the first one in the series was too pronounced - too high in contrast - so I kept this one softer and even did a screen mode layer to lighten it even more.

(I have another version of a different image down in the OOTB forum - it's even softer and lighter than this one.)

    Canon 40D, EF 100mm f/2.8 Macro USM
    f4.5 @ 1/250, ISO 200
Manual mode, pattern metering, cloudy WB
    Handheld, natural light, no flash
Processed in ACR & CS4; small crop, levels adjustment, slight yellow filter added and a screen mode on top.

    Nice shot Jules!

Lighting is great, nice softness and yellow cast to the image.

I'm not sure about the composition though.

I like it very much. I like the use of the same color throughout. This image captures the feel of ornamental grasses. I like the diagonals, straight lines and the curves.

Jules, I like the color tones and lighting. Has a soft wispy feel to it.

Hey Jules I think you did well to soften this as the amount of details in these things can get real contrasty. Well done.
