Here's another from my garden in France. You're going to get a few more yet I'm afraid. Strictly speaking he's looking out of the frame but I actually quite like it. What do you think?

    40D + 400mm DO + 1.4TC. Hand held. ISO 400. F5.6 @ 1/800 sec. Evaluative metering: ec @ -2/3 . Cropped some from bottom and RHS.

    Comments and criticism eagerly sought.

    Cheers.

The head angle looks just fine to me, nothing wrong with the bird looking out of the frame. More of the same bird? Gee the only problem I have with that is we don't have them here!;) Lovely bird and complimentary BG, maybe sharpen the face just a bit more and maybe just a bit off the left?

More is good looking forward to it

Lovely Sean. The lighting is superb. Think a little off the left, not sure, you'd have to try it. Maybe just a wee bit of sharpening in the head/eye area. Love it.

    Congratulations Sean,
I like the composition, image and capture...my only suggestion would be to selective sharpen the eye area...good show...

Having moved from the UK just over a year and half ago it is nice to see the Blue Tit again. I certainly didn't appreciate them enough when I was in the UK. I have only been birding since moving to Canada and missed out on some incredible species whilst I was growing up there. I look forward to seeing some more UK/European birds.
In terms of the shot itself...I really like the pose and how it is looking out of the frame.
I also agree with Gus on the sharpening.

    Hi Sean:

Nice seeing a Blue Tit on this forum. Gina goes to Bournemouth every year, and usually comes back with one shot in her sisters garden.

You made a great presentation of the little guy, and agree with a tad of selective sharpening to head. Good feather detail.

    Thanks for sharing

Thanks all. I was very nervous about over-sharpening all that feather detail and guess I underdid it in the end. I'll re-visit.

    Cheers.

    Sean
