    Wish for a little less grass around the bird but they don't always land where we would like them to.

    Interesting framing with those grasses. The biggest detriment to your image is the very harsh light giving it a too contrasty look and casting nasty shadows into the eyes of your subject. You could crop about half the empty space above for a more balanced composition.

    Hi Joe... I agree that the light is a little harsh on this one, but maybe that can be worked on in photoshop to help tone down the whites. I might also try altering the crop and taking some from the right as well as the top to put the owl more to the right since it's looking to the left over it's shoulder. Must be awesome to photograph these guys... hope to see more of your images!

    I actually like the setting, angle and details are good, too. The light is quite harsh but it should be possible to tone the highlights down a little.
