This kingfisher is wintering in what I would call a ditch a bit south from where I live. It has been quite cold in Sweden for a time now, and the ditch has almost freezed over and the open water that this fellow has to fish in is just about 6x2 meters wide, and thats not much for a kingfisher. This, on the other hand, means that it gets easy to photograph if you take it slow and plan carefully. The welfare of subjects are no 1...

    Thanks for watching.

Overall very beautiful. I love the BG. Exposure and sharpness are good. I'm only finding the composition a wee bit tight, and I would investigate the possibility of eliminating the thin shadow streak on the bird (via QM, clone, patch ).

Great light, details and eye contact. I agree regarding removing the shadow crossing the bird's chest.

pin sharp, and the colours look well exposed. Agree with removing the line across the body. Still a great image.

Gorgeous image with excellent lighting , exposure and detail. The BG is wonderful and as mentioned it would be nice to see a touch more canvas. Congratulations Daniel on a fine image !!!

In addition to the excellent comments and suggestions above I would add that I love the hint of patterns of branches in the BKGR.

Nice work Daniel, colours and sharpness look great, agree about trying to clone out the thin shadow across the breast....
