    Default White-winged Crossbill on Ice

Today I finally found a cooperative flock of White-winged Crossbills in a nearby state park. The light was quite low and handholding a little tricky. The birds were pretty high up in the trees but sometimes got down to eye level.

    Hi Axel,

Very nice setting and soft light. Looks a little over sharpened IMO. Nice colors too!

Very nice Axel. The setting complete with ice is great. The soft light is very pleasing.

Agree with Maxis on this one Axel, beautiful setting but on my monitor it also looks over sharpened.

Axel congratulations on this capture of a colourful male. I like the overall composition of this image and the eye contct. The slightly "dirty" bill tells us what this bird is doing.

Lovely colours captured throughout the image. Comp wise, I would maybe take a bit off the top, but still a great image Axel.

Thanks for the good suggestions. Here is a repost, slight crop off the top and less sharpened. I noticed that the head looks oversharpened more quickly with my standard settings than with other species.
