    In the last few weeks I organise some charity workshop at a local birds of prey rehabilitation group. This Kestrel was very cooperative.

    EOS-1D Mark III, 500mm, ISO400, 1/125, f/8, flash @M HS 1/4

    BG, sharpness, light and careful composition are great.

    I feel I must make a comment - but all the relevant points seem to have been already covered above!
    It is certainly a lovely quiet, well composed image of a beautiful bird.

    Splendid image; all of the aspects of a good shot are pressent. I've noticed that the bird does not have the rufous colouring in the top of the head; nor the dark patch on the occipital region of the head. Is this common? Great shot.
