since I hand-caught a vole (was not sure if they bite but did not )running near me and provided it to the owl, call this image baited.

Great flight pose and I love the serious eye contact you captured here Jeff. I would like to see a tad more canvas on top and right but still very lovely as posted. Your timing was excellent with excellent exposure and detail. Would love to have this in my files !!! Thanks for sharing.

Well done, Jeff. Handcatching a vole seems an achievement quite apart from this image :). I might try and lighten the left (bird's right) eye a little.

Hey Jeff.....I may be even more impressed that you hand caught a vole than captured this image. Talk about being quick. A wonderful "incoming" image. I especially like the intense look on the Snowy's face and the BG. Well done.

Hey Jeff - seems like the 300mm is working for you. I miss it, but love your 500mm. Going to try to find some snowys tomorrow at Jones Beach before the snow hits.

    Cheers,
    Sallie Jo

Great incoming pose and stare. How do you catch a vole? Pounce? :)

well, this image was one of the last with the 300mm. I traded it back toward a 500mm.

Beautiful capture Jeff... the variation of the background from top to bottom really makes this a nice one in my opinion. Were you using AI Servo?

I keep my camera on AI Servo most of the time and always for flight shots.
