    Default Male Superb Fairy Wren

Male Superb Fairy Wren in breeding plumage.
    Wattamolla beach- Royal NP, Sydney.
This little guy was hard to nail, darting about all morning catching insects to bring back to their nest.

    D300 200-400VR f/4 1/320s ISO 200@400mm + SB900.

    C & C most welcome.

    Cheers
    Marc

Perfect look-back pose, and the insect catch is a nice bonus. I like the brown grass strand in front of your subject...but the long OOF vertical one coming down from ULC is quite distracting, you could clone it out if you don't mind doing such things. I would desat the yellows...they seem too strong in the grass.

Wonderful alert pose and I like the turning back action , I agree with Daniel in regard to the OOF grass in the FG. I am not sure if it is my monitor but it looks a tad over sharpened to me. Congratulations Marc and thanks for sharing.

I like alert pose, eye contact, and great job in getting him with prey.

    Hi Judy

Only a minimum of USM was applied, he's in breeding plumage, which gives the blue an almost metallic/crispy finish.

All excellent stuff above. Painting a QM of the eye-mask and the eye and lightening it would likely be an improvement.
