    Default I'm a Hungry Guy

I went back for the Crossbills today and had no problem finding them even though we had winds gusting over 40 MPH.
There was one area where a lot of the pinecones had fallen or been blown down to the ground and the Crossbills were taking advantage of the situation as the trees were swaying pretty good

This looks very cool. Great light, details and the pine cone puts it over the top for me.

Nice shot capturing a bird at work. I like the fact that the snow wasn't blown out as well. As more of an amateur, I was having problems with the intense snow during a sunny day last March when shooting. Since then, I learned a lot, but we'll see just how much the next time I shoot pics with snow involved.

Pin sharp, and what a superb contrast between the lovely colour of the crossbill, and the snow. Well captured John.

Beautiful light and colours. I would be tempted to lighten the OOF dark spots in the BG and foreground slightly

Quite different to see one on the ground like this. When I photographed some up here last week I was surprised to see that they sometimes pick the cones right off the branches and climb away, parrot-like, to another area with cones in their bills. Good job on the exposure and low angle.
