    Hi Adams,
I like the composition, image and capture. You have sharp details and good color rendition. I like the placement of the bird in frame. I like the head angle and sharp eye contact...also like the surrounding habitat...well done...

Very nice Adam. Interesting looking bird and I like how you have included a reasonable amount of habitat.

The composition and technicals have been covered well.
So I will offer some food for thought.

1.This image was created wide open at ISO 400.
You will notice some OOF foliage on the right side of the frame.

2.The noise characteristics of the MIII are very good, so using ISO 800 is not a problem.

3.If you used ISO 800 you could stop down to F11 with no loss in shutter speed.

    4. With an IS 600mm you should be able to create a sharp image at 1/500 SS.

    5. Let's put it all together.
    Use ISO 800 @ F16 1/500.
Roll your zone of focus forward using the lenses focusing ring and checking with your DOF button until the Falcon is sharp, but at the back of the zone of focus.
Increasing your DOF by stopping down(F8 to F16 = 2 stops) and "rolling" your zone of focus forward, you should be able to get both the bird and plant in sharp focus. It depends on your distance from subject and distance between bird and plant.

    6. IMO when this technique is used, the OOF foliage that was a slight distraction is now another sharp element of this beautiful image.

    Hi James,
Thank you for taking the time replying to my post. This is the reason i joined BPN. I will be more careful next time a situation like this presents its self.
