Default Snowy Owl on the Beach

This is another image of the snowy owl I posted a few days ago, similar pose but different crop to include the shadow.

I like the wide-eyed look on the owl, and the inclusion of the shadow looks good. Again, the bits of grass add a nice element of habitat.

Beautiful exposure and composition, this is typical of me i.e. a composition point: the grass on the right - I reckon you deliberately chopped it off - would it have looked better not chopped off - perhaps it went on for a greater distance than I imagined?

Thanks, Jon. I cropped it this way because the owl would have been too centered otherwise.

I like this one a lot Axel, especially with the inclusion of the shadow.

While more of the grass on the right would have been nice, I agree that the subject would then have become too centered.

I'd be happy if it were my capture :)

Beautiful exposure and sharpness right on. Nice lignt I like the low angle of the sun casting the long soft shadow. It adds nicely to the impact of the image. Well done.

Gotta love those eyes. And including the shadow is a plus. I'd suggest cloning out about half of the stalks from the grass on the right to reduce its pull.

I like the shadow too, killer eyes and you nailed the exposure. Strange for me to see the snowies without bg snow.

I like the image very much but I would have "constructed" it in such a way so as to include the grasses at the right (had that been possible at all). So, I guss I would have moved back and to the right some more to give it just a bit more room.
