This on is lacking the eye contact, so it is not exactly my favorite. But I find myself gazing at it often -- I think I like the different textures in the whites. When going over the images after a shoot, it is surprisingly difficult to find one that exists in the sweet spot between blue sky BG images and wing-clipped, snow BG shots. I still prefer the incoming shots with unclipped wings and snow in the BG instead of sky. The V-wing shot I posted the other day is still my crown jewel.

    Must.....find....a snowy......must.........find....... a snowy.....

My God they are incredible birds. I'm heading to Wisconsin for a couple of weeks (business) and I'm a wishing a snowy gets down Milwaukee way while I'm there. The alternative-freezing off body parts without a snowy shot to show for it.....makes me shudder.

Another spectacular capture of the Snowy Scott. Yes I agree with you about prefering the unclipped wings but also agree with you about the perfect exposure showing off the white plumage to its max. Well done!!

Since you don't like it that much, I could find a loving home for it in Florida :)

    Very lovely!

You guys cleaned up on this owl (im assuming its the same one as Davids and Jody's)? Nicely captured.

A beautiful bird which you have nailed. Good exposure and focus on a difficult subject. A pity the wings have been clipped.
