    Default Night Hawk #2

Spotted this hawk (I think it's a northern harrier) on the road with its kill. Stopped, grabbed camera, not time to setup flash or tripod. Only illumination was car headlites. 105 mm full frame, 1/20 sec @ f4.0 ISO 800 handheld .
Image was not sharp after a substantial crop so I blurred background and did extensive work on subject's boundaries in Elements.
Is it acceptable for club competition? What do you think?

    Hi Murray

It is a remarkable image form several points Amazing how close you were able to get and how much quality under the circumstances. The image should do well but it all will have to do with the judge.

I like the pose, having prey, placement in frame and overall feel !!

Thanks for the ID Rich !!! btw could you send me a PM Would like to change the user name to your real name if possible Thanks.

Murray, Shots like that don't come around too often-I think you did very well! I would put it in my clubs competition!

Well done Murray, considering the circumstances. As mentioned opportunities like this don't come often and often when they do come, panic can set in. Good for you.
