    Hi Folks:

Here's a Young Curve-billed Thrasher who visited us yesterday. Birds were rather quiet as I think a couple of hawks were snooping around . . . hope I'm there when they show their faces. :p

I like the bg, pose, profile, and eye contact. The image benefits from the bg coloring in this case with the subdued coloring of the bird.

    Nicely composed Gus,
I like the background colors. You have good details and good color rendition on your bird...congrats...

That is one awesome bird. What a name!!
I can see where the curved-bill bit comes from. Where does the Thrasher bit come from. Is it a behavioral name?
I think a couple of tattoos and a Harley would fit well.
Joking aside...I love the shot. You have captured such a great pose.

Like the pose and the BG. My only issue is that the fine feather detail isn't there in this image. Not sure if this is a significant crop or if there's some other reason.

Light seems soft and could have something to do with detail? Do like the pose with the slight body curve !! Sure got a nice patio Gus !!! :)

    Doug:

You're right, it was a large crop, usually take the thrasher at about 400+ instead of under 200 as I did this time.
Missed changing after photographing a two legged bird . . . Gina :D
