Slow the last couple days and just the usual fare, it was just that this guy really stood out.

That doesn't look like a normal Blue-winged Teal...never seen one with such markings and colours on its head. Even the eye is not the same as a BWT. Very interesting.

Critique-wise too bad he's swimming away...at the very least he could have given you a proper look-back ;-) Some of the blues in the water are oversturated, especially in LLC.

Not familiar with this species but all the colours look a bit oversaturated here, Bill. Nice sharpness on the head and eye.

Very interesting bird Bill, the colours seem rather way out on my monitor. I appreciate the bird is swimming away but I think a little CCW rotation may help. I also try to take shots like this from as low an angle as possible, it give the shot more impact.

Im not familiar with this guy, so cant comment on the colours apart from saying if I didnt know from the above comments, they look nice and colourful. I really like the light on the head and eye. Still a great capture Bill.

I'm not sure about the ID, either. The lookback pose is nice but I wish for a lower angle and it needs some CW rotation.

I like the eye contact Bill. Agree with the others about the need for a lower angle and perhaps some CW rotation.

The bird must have been very close to the boardwalk, that's why the steep angle.
Unfortunately, Green Cay and Wako are boardwalk facilities, and the only get to get a "loer" angle is thourgh the railing, and it would still be a steep angle if the subject is very close to you.

Agree the colors look way too light. The teals do have some iridescence to the head, not not so much and judging by the plumage and eye colors, you need to go back in the midtones.
