2 images one requested and the other taken today. Both were taken at the Tulsa Zoo in the southwest exhibit. While not as wild as others here, has been wonderful for learning how to use cameras.
The first was shot last fall with an S5IS by a complete noob (ME) ISO250, 72mm, f3.5, 1/320. It suffers from harsh light and an annoying twig to the left of the frame.
Hi Russell, Thanks for posting these shots! He's a cute little fellow. The zoo is a great place to see and shoot some neat animals. Agree w/ your self critique on first photo.
I'm working on my lap-top so it's hard to do exact adjustments-but you get the idea.
I cropped and did a slight rotation, did a color adjustment(not sure what they look like but used the eye-dropper)
Removed the big stick behind head (you could do it better)
Hi Russell,
In situations like these, its best to move around to get the best photo angle available. before squeezing the shutter, try to compose in camera to avoid all of the distractions in the background and foreground; also try to get a lower capture angle...the base image is a tad under exposed...
Denise's repost puts this image over the top, and illustrates the point at hand...looking forward to your next capture...
Hi Russell best to post one image only and re post of same as needed !!!
With a cluttered bg is god to be tight but still need to compose. Just the head would have been better is you had the focal length. Light was also a problem as it normally is at the zoo with the normal operating hours, always pray for clouds !!!
