I was taking picture of birds at my backyard feeder when I noticed this small Junco. He was perched in this fir tree under 10 degrees F temperature. I do not know what to think about this picture. I tried to frame it in order to depict the cold, empty winter woods and the small fragile feathered fellow. I was looking for a mood. Please give me your feedback.

I would clean up some of the twigs around the bird Rene. In particular the diagonal ones above and to the left of the bird and the straight diagonal one to the right of the bird. It would have been nice if there was a slight head turn towards you.

Nice use of fill flash. Good comments from Doug. In addition I might crop a bit from the left to keep the bird from being to centered.

Very nice capture and eye contact. Adding to the other comments, I would add a bit canvas at the bottom and sharpen the head a bit more.

Nice composition, in addition to cloning a few twigs to give a clearer aperture I would apply a little shadow/highlight to provide a little more detail in the dark plumage.
