Tried an HDR using exposure blending in Photomatix. Then worked on the shadows and highlights within the program.
    More processing in CS4.
Two shots, tried it with the third darker one and it looked a little dark so I left that one out.

    f/11 @ 1/640s, 1/160s

    Straightened a bit.
I know it needs a crop, but I am not sure where?

A beautiful image and composition Jackie,
I love the tones and hues of the sky and the water; it has a soft silky feel...love it...:)
Suggestion...for my taste, how would you feel in slicing off about 1/4 from the bottom of the frame, this will place more focus and attention on the lovely water and sky...try it and see if it feels good to you...from the heart...

I like it a lot and the processing looks just fine Like seeing a full range in tones as shown. btw crop wise the first thing I thought was to take some of the bottom !!! Big Congrats !!!

Jackie, Well done!! Great colors and sky! ,agree w/ crop suggestion- but think this is great!!!might be tempted to clone the 2 black dots in water(birds?) Would love if you would share one of the originals for comparison.I like the overall look alot and can't wait to shoot a landscape to try it out

The first time this image loaded onto my monitor it scrolled from top to bottom, so I got an quick view of the image with the bottom cropped. I agree that that's the way to go. Love the sky with the 2 land masses pointing toward the center where there is a hint of color. Also the land on the left leads your eye to the land on the right and then onto the orange. Great composition.

    It does seem to improve.

    Big Congrats !!!
    Agree !!

    Question:

Why does it need to work on highlights and shadows in making a HDR image?

    Hi Jackie:

Pleasing beautiful photo, when scrolling down suggested cropping looks good, more like a pano. Like Denise's suggestion for before and after too.

    Thanks for sharing.
