It was sitting on a roof much higher than I was so I couldn't get a good angle (if I had tried to get higher I would have fallen off the pier). It was the only "good" shot of a tern I got whilst in Florida.

I love how in the winter they look as though they are going Bald!!

They do have that receding hairline look don't they! Sharpness is good, and you did well with your exposure (I'm assuming you were exposing to the right at +1/3 EC). Light looks nice and even. As you point out, the angle could be better as could the perch. I also think it would benefit from a black point adjustment using Levels. Something like this to make the blacks look more black.

I like the pano crop Rob,
You display sharp details, and a clear sharp eye...you already mention the steep capture angle...I like Doug's repost...bring out the colors and the definitions a tad more...good show...

    Hi Guys
    Thanks for all the comments.
Doug's re-post looks much better with the levels adjustment.
I did wonder about the lack of the black in the shot. It seemed to go off the end of the graph because of the head black.
I will give it another go with the advice given.
And yes it was +1/3 - sorry I forgot to add that detail.

    Rob:

Lovely shot of the Royal Tern, we don't see them around here, last one I saw was in San Francisco.

Doug's repost gave it the finishing touch.

Thanks for sharing that lovely bird.

    Uncle Gus
