This was taken yesterday at Wako. It was very overcast.....so I hung around a bit longer than most.....when the male got back to the nest. I like the fact that you can see her face.....while on most images you can't.
Canon Mark 3 with the Sigma 300-800mm at 572mm for 1/1600 sec at f5.6 and ISO 1250. All mounted on tripod with wimberly head. When I look at these in Breezebrowser........the 25 frames make a pretty interesting movie!

Nice capture Roman! Great composition with the wing spread, eye contact from both birds, and the way the male is holding the female's neck in his bill. Like it a lot. I even like the single branch under the male's right wing.

Great capture of this moment. I like the poses and BG and might raise the color temperature a few degrees. Did you run NR on the birds? As for the ISO, I think 1600 produces less noise than 1250. There is an interesting thread regarding this issue: http://www.birdphotographers.net/for...058#post193058

Excellent framing provided by the vegetation. And luck always comes to the ones that wait. Beautifully captured.

Great interaction captured here, and overall, the herons are pin sharp. I like the show of the outspread wings too. Well done.

Roman, I really love this angle. Great moment captured and a great vantage point with a very pleasing background. If I were a guessing person I'd say it looks like you might have even manually added in a little extra blur and done some touchup to the left of the female. :)
