I know Mallards are a dime a dozen, but I really like the wing position on this bird. I also like the BG.

Great pose, exposure control, details and BG. Did you add the catchlight?

No I didn't. I didn't alter the catchlight at all. Why do you ask?

Just wondering because the light looks soft and there aren't any harsh shadows.

Hey Doug, nice work on the mallard! There are loads of them, but they provide good target practice. I love the feather details and the action you caught. I can already hear the splash!
Compositionwise I would have liked the wing to be an even distance from the edge of the frame on top and to the right. I would consider cropping some of the top and maybe add some canvas on the bottom.

Wonderful image, Great exposure. the only negative I could add is maybe having the mallard a little higher in the frame.

No nits from me Doug, ever love it as presented and the only problem I have is it isn't mine.

Really like the image: pose, sharpness, blurred background, etc. Truly believe that a great photo of a "dime a dozen" subject is still a great photo.

It may be just a mallard, but it's all in the presentation and you have a good one. Details and exposure look good as well as nice bg.

I like the posture in this, and amazing colour in the BG to compliment the Mallard. Well captured Doug.

Really nice capture Doug, the expression of this guy makes me think he was in a rush. Very nice details on feathers and lovely BG.
