    Hi Monte,
I like the capture, but this would present better as a vertical crop to follow the diagonal lines and flow of the bird perched downward and following the tree path down. the base image is under exposed, and the bird is a bit on the fuzzy side. I like the fact that you have a clean background...I adjusted your composition by cropping it to a vertical capture. I also lightened the mid-tones, opened up the background hue of gray, ran noise reduction, selective sharpened the wing and feather contour and selective sharpened the eye and bill...see if this presents best to you...

Hi Monte, like the repost with Gus to vertical, a bit of lightening and sharpening. Looks a little soft on my monitor on the original. Looking forward to more.

    Gus,

The image looks much better after your adjustments, the limb is actually a perch attached to a feeding station in our backyard, the base of the limb has a dark ring from all the rain the past few days. Also like the way you resized the image. What type of sharpening technique did you use, and what is the best way to sharpen, it seems like I always end up oversharpening, so therefore leave the images soft.

    Hi Monte

Lot of good things going on with your image I like the behavior, pose and clean bg. For resizing check this link, its a question in digital workflow, will be of help.

For sharpening remember to do so at the final resolution and look at it 1 to 1 I like using smart sharpening and on occasion use PhotoKit Sharpener.
