    Not your everyday pose, I like it very much. Love the colors in the scapula. If I wished for more, it would be for a bit more dof so the the feathers closest to us would also be in sharp focus. The top layer of bg, that brown-orange stripe, is a bit distracting.

    A real beauty Gene. Lovely colours, pose and feeling. Pretty bird. Nice detail in the snow too. Gail does raise an intersting point about the back ground. Good one.

    Hi Gene,
    I like the capture, agree about the distracting brown background on the top portion of the frame, you can desaturate the colors and blur it some more, then liquefy it to blend it in with the rest. I personally would like to see this fellow with an open eye...:cool:

    Love it Gene .... just wish I was there !!! Looks a little different than in July when I was there :)

    Would like a little more room for the duck but love the image !!! btw on these preening images having the head totally parallel to the film plane does make a difference !!! Big Congrats !!!

    Gene, love the colours in the bird. Would add a bit more canvas for the feet. An open eye would be perfect. Very nice.
