    GBH portrait shot today along the American River in Sacramento with a tripod mounted Nikon D200, 80-400mm at 400mm, f8, 1/1250sec. auto exp mode +.67, ISO 400. PP'ed in CS3, cropped about 40%, sharpened with Nik Sharpener Pro. C&C welcome.

    Nice pose and eye contact, Dan. The whites look blown below the eye though. Is the American River in Sacramento a good spot for bird photography?

    Thanks Aidan, yes the whites are gone in that area. The American River Parkway offers some opportunities for bird photography, but doesn't compare to coastal areas or wildlife refuges. The Nimbus Fish Hatchery in winter can be very good if the salmon are in good supply (this year is a bad year for the salmon).
