    Good job composing this in-camera. As posted you could sharpen a bit more...it's not that the image is soft (it isn't) is just that it could be helped be pushed to bring out the fine details. There is a darkish "blob" (sensor dust?) under the bill close to the tip that needs to be cloned out.

    Very nice composition and exposure. What Daniel is seeing is the lack of DOF of 7.1, loosing detail on the wing, not parallel to the sensor plane. Since you were so close (full frame) a couple of stops of closing the aperture may have helped here.

    Aidan I like the composition of this image and the moisture on the bill. Dan and Fabs have pointed out the DOF.

    Although this is true, I'm talking about the whole image. I don't mind shallow DOF when the eye/face are in focus which they are here, and I don't mind the wing being out of DOF range here. It's just that it looks like even the face could benefit from additional sharpening for web presentation puposes only. I'm sure that viewed at full size this image is tack sharp where it needs to be :-)
