Sweet light time with a black shoulder Kite, after it had its breakfast.

Great find, details and BG. The kite is a bit small in the frame for my taste. Maybe a vertical crop like this?

This is a good capture of the kite and the remains of his meal. I find the 2 tone background with the dark line of separation a distraction - slightly up or down may have achieved a single tone. The 3 pieces of wood also are too prominent to my eye. I see your reason for including them but feel an image of the bird on the perch with his meal would have been stronger. Alternatively a vertical crop of the bird on his perch excluding the other two. These things are often beyond our control but worth aiming for.

repost looks good - background no longer an issue

Personally I think the original is the stronger image. The blood around the beak has context to it due to the remains of the meal being partially visible.

The re-post works better for me. What a beautiful bird and great BG.
