Here is a female junco, they are lighter colored with more brown than slate coloring on the males. In addition, I lightened the face as suggested in my previous junco image.
I have a photo of her looking dead-on at me, but I think the beak is sharper in this image. Probably because the snow isn't in the way. lol
At the time I was photographing, I liked how she was standing behind a small ridge of snow. but now looking at the image, I keep wanted to see feet. I think the snow is too bright and makes her look like she is footless and floating. I darkened the snow in the foreground. Does it help?
The bird looks very sharp, but your pp seems to have left a halo all round the bird (based on my monitor). I agree with you that it could be better with at least part of the legs visible.
Darling image Cheryl!! Great eye contact and nice and sharp. Do see maybe a bit of halo and agree on the legs..Still very, very cute image and very nice color on the bird!
Hi Cheryl What did the histogram look like? I'm guessing it was a little under For snow you might want to meter on the snow and open 1 1/2 Should give you a solid exposure !!!
Do like the pose and setting and having a meal just takes it further !!! Love it !!
Another nice one Cheryl, agree with Al about underexposure. Are you getting a halo from sharpening?? Should be able to get a good image out of it though I think in PP.
How do I show the histogram here? To me it doesn't look underexposed. Lots of info on the right, but not off the end. And then low info in the middle, and more info towards that last couple of boxes.
