    I tried to get low on this shot but I don't think I got quite low enough. I am also unsure as to which shorebird this is as I am terrible at identifying winter plumage shorebirds.

    Nice low image Rob. Would maybe selective sharpen the face just a bit more and there is a dust bunny right above the birds head.

    Hi Rob I like the capture You might take a little more of the bottom, will give it an even better feel !!! I like the placement in frame with room up front, good head/sun angle and leg positions.

    The lower angle flat on the ground as you mention does make for a compelling perspective. ID wise I'm guessing a semipalmated sandpiper but as you ... I'm not an expert on little guys !!

    Think it is a good low angle too Rob, just some sharpening around the head/eye area would be nice.
