    Hi Eric Neat looking woodpecker Remember to give the exposure comp, does make it easier to help out.

    I like the pose and head angle, avoided the mayor distracting areas for overlapping. Framing wise would have like to see the tail and the bird further to the right. You always want more space up front than behind the bird.

    Exposure wise looks a little hot, histogram should have some pixels running up the right side. If you were on one of the auto modes the meter would look at the dark bg and open up to make lighter over exposing the bird. These guys are not easy to capture with a clean bg in good light !!!

    I like the composition...very good advise given by Mr. Forns...the bird is a tad hot...looking forward to your next one...:cool:

    thanks guys...and thanks for the advice about more space in front of the bird than back. Is it better to photograph birds in a manual mode rather than automatic?
