    I caught this kestrel while out walking with my four year old daughter. Wish I would have had longer glass as this is a fair crop of the original full frame image. Still I liked the pose of the bird here. I'm not sure about the branches. I usually tend to crop most of them out but in this case I left more in. Too much?

    Nikon D80
    300 mm f/4 + 1.4 TC
    ISO 400 f/8.0 1/1000 sec matrix metering with -1.0 eV EC

    nice shot,colors of the bird and BG go very nice together,I would have cropped some of the branches out,bit of noise in background,but still a very nice image.thanks.

    Nice pose. I would remove the lower branches with a square crop but it is obviously a heavy crop already. NR on the BG would help a bit.

    I agree about cropping the lower branches out. Nice job taking advantage of capturing this beautiful bird.

    Thanks for the feedback folks. A square crop is a good idea Tony, I'll give that a go.
