Very nice Lance. Like the pose and the colours on the bird and the BG. Just thought the blacks on the beak were a bit flat so I did a screen on them to lighten the black and bring out more detail.

I like the extra details your brought out in the blacks, Jackie.
wonderful soft feel to the feathers, as well as good saturation without over doing it.

Lance - You have such amazingly different birds down there! This one is very cool!

Jackie - I like what you did with the bill, but would you mind explaining what a screen is and how one does it? I have PS7 and am very much on a learning curve!

    Thanks!

    Sue,
Used the magic wand to select the beak, then copied it (control J). Right click on that layer and select screen as a blending mode. Think I went close to 100 percent in the opacity slider, or you can go 100 percent and then erase to taste right on your picture.

    Hi lance:

Sure is a great shot of a beauty I have never seen before . . .

    Thanks for sharing.

    Uncle Gus

BTW: Do you leave IS on when you use a tripod? The reason I ask is that I have seen Camera makers say; "To turn IS off when you use a tripod."? When I asked the question in the forum, answers were varied.
