    Default Snowy Owl

This picture was taken back in November under very low light conditions. Although it is not obvious in this picture, the wing tips are almost touching the snow. Baiting did aid in getting this capture.

    Canon 30D, 500 f/4 IS, f/5.6, 1/1250, ISO 400, 1.4 ext.

I love head on owl shots. I'd frame this one. perfectly exposed and I love the high key as well.

Wonderfully captured! The piercing eyes and wings down are great!
The only thing I might do is darken the blacks on the wings a wee bit more. That was looking for a nit.

Great pose, details and stare. There is a slight blue cast on my monitor.

Incredible image! Love the way the eyes really stand out. Alos like the completely white background, but still plenty of details in the owl.

Yes, 24'' iMac, but the cast doesn't go away if I tilt the monitor or move.

Excellent image, Rick. I love teh eyes and wing posture. A single click with the midtone dropper below the beak removes the blue cast that Axel noted. I've taken the liberty of adding a 1px black border as I think it shows these high key images a little better against the white BG of the website.

Thanks Tony I really have to watch for those color casts especially the blue ones due to my color blindness. But once pointed out (your report) they do become obvious to me. Thanks again.
