Where's hand of man forum?

Hi Paul Hand of man has merged with Wild and Free so its just Avian now. We also merged the Pano Gallery with Landscape.

Just a quick question. Both BirdPhotographers.Net and Nikonians are making some fairly substantial changes. Is there a reason the membership is NOT let know of the upcoming changes before they are made?

David we are always making changes to make the site better and you must understand it is not possible to poll the membership for opinion.

The Hand of Man gallery created some problems of its own. Images being moved from the Free and Wild to the Hand of Man resulted in complaints. Also there were complaints images were not being seen by as many people as in the Wild and Free.

We also combined the Pano with Landscape since it did not have as much traffic.

btw I don't know what Nikonians are up but I think most sites make changes on a regular basis. Hope you can understand.

David,
Many of our past changes were mentioned ahead of time in this forum.
In this case, member feedback drove the changes.

If we hadn't had the upgrade issues, I feel sure we would have mentioned something.
We were/are playing catchup do to the security upgrade.

Good idea combining these forums. I do think it will give wider audience to many images and make BPN easier and more efficient to use.

I don't think David meant for you to poll us members before the moves, just to let us know "of" the moves.
