    This female Northern Cardinal posed nicely in the Cedars before flying to a nearby feeder just out of the frame.

    Canon 40D + 100-400L @ 400mm, manual exp, eval metering, 1/125s., f/6.3, ISO 500, no EC, fill flash @ -0.3 FEC, handheld.

    Lovely, Dan. That dark BG really sets of the bird's warm tones. Frosted foliage really adds to it. I might burn in the grey branch in the BG.

    I really like the placement of the bird in the frame. Very nice habitat shot. Could be my monitor, I think the background could use a little NR. Happy New year Dan!
