    Default Fox Sparrow

    This mornings walk produced a few Spotted Towhee`s and this Fox Sparrow.



    Canon 40D, 500mm L lens, ISO 800, 1/500 sec, f13, +1/3 EV, AV mode, Cameron tripod, gimbal head.

    Nice light, very good sharpness and good job on the exposure. I likle a lot the eye contact, the bird pose and the complimentary colours in the perch and plumage. The composition is a bit centered to my tast and I think that it could be better with more room at the right. Happy 2009 :-)

    This beautiful species is notoriously skittish in these parts when passing through during migration...good to get close, but I do think the comp needs some more breathing room. Too bad a small shadow was cast on the tip of the tail. To me the sharpening looks a little off...maybe slightly over-sharpened? Love the snowy BG...you guys have been hit by snow harder than usual haven't you :-)
