    Image created during light drizzle and foggy conditions. Set up near feeders. The background is an out of focus snowbank.

    This is very nice, I like the pose, eye contact, exposure control and perch. The high key works well.

    I love this kind of images with a pure white BG. When they are well executed, like in this example, they looks like paintings. The composition works very fine for me and I like a lot the eye contact and the bird´s pose. Very well done and happy 2009!

    This is is a lovely image - beautiful soft, enveloping light - almost looks as though it was taken in a light tent. Love the detail in the seed pods and plumage - works perfectly for me against the white BG. Part of me wishes some of the perch extended above the bird but I suspect if it did we would suggest removing it!

    I absolutely love the comp and pose. Wonderful perch and high-key BG. Very nice!! The one thing I have to mention is that the goldfinch lacks fine detail and looks somewhat smoothed-out...almost the same result as when noise reduction is used too agrresively (?).
