Nice one Eric. You must have been fast on the tripod to get this one. Interesting how the feathers are fluffed up, must have been windy. It does look like some of the whites are blown out. Good pose.

These guys are hard to get Eric. Like the feathers flying around. Just needs some sharpening. The whites are over or close to being over. Check with your colour sampler tool and see what kind of values you are getting. ( If you are using PS) Maybe you could tone them down more before converting in to jpeg format.

    Hi Eric,
I like the composition. A few things to think about. You have noise in the background, the head angle is off, it needs about 1 degree of CCW rotation, and the bird's head should be tilted, looking down. You are also running your whites at 244, I toned them down to 230. I selective sharpened around the eye and touched up the feathers...see if this presents well with you...

Hi Eric I like the suggestions and can add the crop is a bit of a problem. You don't get to see the entire bird but you need to consider how the virtual bird is being cropped.

Here if you allow to show more bird the perch will get you so the only solution is going very tight. Since its full frame would crop real tight !! Not sure if you could have moved closer but just the head and shoulders would have made a strong image !!!

thanks everyone...and Alfred i wish i could have gone closer but this was as close as the birds would allow me to get.
