I captured this image of the ruddy duck last month at Lake Mattamuskeet NWR in North Carolina.

Canon EOS-1D Mark III, 500mm f/4 with 2x teleconverter, ISO 400, 1/400 sec at f/8, +1 1/3 exp comp, AV mode, gitzo tripod and wimberley head.

Processed in CS3 with levels, curves and selective sharpening.

Very nice details, exposure control and calm water. I might crop a little bit tighter top, right and bottom.

Nice details and pose. I would also crop a bit off the bottom. It could also use some CW rotation.
