Whilst relaxing in the Drakensberg Mountains, KZN, South Africa, I came a cross a colony of Southern Masked Weavers in a tree in the middle of a pond. The best shot was of a single male relaxing with the background in shadow.

Interesting image, great view of the nest and its' size. Would work well as a vertical by trimming most of the right side and then a bit left for balance. I'd also consider darkening the pale bands to make a complete dark BG.,

I thought about darkening the blue bands but am not so sure as I kind of like them. I have noticed that they come out a lot more on certain monitors though.

I totally agree with Daniel about the darkening of the pale band at the right and sure its works in vertical format too. I like the mood of the scene and the balance between light and darkness a lot. Very well seen and great exposure job. Happy 2009!
