    took this shot spring 2008,nice sunny day,breeds in this old stone barn in the forest of bowland lancashire,these owls were introduced in the last century,they are now well established,they are about 8 1/2 inches long,hence the name little owl.cannon40d,400mm prime lens,1/800sec,f9.0,iso400,A1servo AF.HAND HELD.

    This is a cute owl Chris and one I have never seen. I might crop out a bit of the BG and make the bird more prominent. And from what I have learned on the site, side-lighting does not seem to bring out the best in your subject. Maybe a bit of S/H on the left hand side would help to bring out the details a little more?
