Not the prettiest or most colorful of birds, but he serves a purpose in the grand scheme of things. Wish there had been more light for the eye, but I'll take it!

Kerry, I love vultures I think they are very interesting-colors and detail look good-agree about eye. I see a little noise but not much- I would prob. give more room in front- Good job! I like it alot!!

    Hi Kerry,

I like it very much. I like the two tone background with the soft hues. I do see a little bit of noise, which can easily be fixed, would give your subject just a tad more room to the left of the frame. Need to open up the mid-tones around the eye area and give it just a slight sprinkle of selective sharpening...good show...

Nice Job Kerry. You must have been pretty close! I like the colours and feather detail, a bit more room would be nice, and I am not sure if a bit lighter shade on the neck area would bring out even more detail. Very interesting looking bird. Nice one.

kerry, what did you spot meter off of? i like the compostion and the bird's pose. i personally would like to see a little more of the perch.

i ask about the metering because i see you were at -2/3 and i would have thought you would have been +. the bird does look a bit underexposed?

TV's are great birds, nice pose and HA, super feather detail.

The head color looks off to me almost a magenta/ hot pink, desaturate it a bit maybe?

Agree with pretty much all of the above comments Kerry. You can always bring out the eye a bit more in PS. Would be curious to know why you chose spot metering and like Harold, what you metered off of.

Thanks for the feedback all. I had hoped that the spot metering would get the dark feathers exposed correctly, but it did underexpose a little. The image is barely cropped, so the spot was centered on the bird. I simply forgot to set the exposure compensation for this situation. I saw a lot of different birds and situations that day and just wasn't keeping up!
