Last August Tropical Storm Fay dumped a lot of rain here in Fort Myers. A drainage dicth that runs parallel with my house overflowed into my back yard. When the water started to go down a lot of small fish got trapped and a few birds came by for the easy meal.

    Adam,
Amazing, or perhaps encouraging is a better word for such a sharp photo considering the ss, length of lens/tc and the ISO value.

Very nice image, I like it a lot! I agree with Dave in that the picture is extremely sharp given the conditions. At that distance, were you using a beamer? I would be tempted to tone down the saturation of the BG, but I love it as presented. The DOF and focus are lovely.

really well done with the conditions!! the only thing that i see as a minor thing is the St Augustine grass! not a natural setting for the bird. other than that, nice job!!

I agree that this is a terrific image, even more so given the conditions. The bird itself is exquisite.
Harold's point about the grass is interesting to me as the mowed grass in front of the bird gives the illusion bird that the bird is robin size. Does that matter?
    Cheers
    Gail
