Hi James. Very handsome bird. I think that the extremes of exposure are a nuisance in this shot, with overexposure on the top of the head and black clipping all around the lower left body, making for a contrasty image. The underexposed body gives an eerie look to the head, making it "float" in space. A flash with beamer would have definitely helped with that. I would probably do some more sharpening to bring out feather detail. A very nice capture!

Hi James, I like it. Although I agree that there does look to be some blown whites on top. The head does seem to be a bit separated from the body, alomost as if the bird has a uniform on. Not sure if this is what you were going for but it certainly is a dramatic photo.

    Hi James,
Its a fine capture, its a shame that half of the body is lost in the blacks. I would try to open up the blacks to try and get whatever details are left. also tone down the hot spot on the eagle's head...

i personally dont mind the left being blocked because the business side of the image was exposed perfectly. i think it's artful presented this way. definitely agree with a little more sharpening.

I agree with Mr H..Except there is a bit of shaded white, off side, that maybe should go, for the whole effect? Not sure just seems to need and end (not the right word). I do like the look the image has.
