    Welcome aboard !

Composition-wise I think the bird can use more room all around. I don't mind the background. Tech-wise I think this photo is under-exposed. Since you used a Canon S5, sharpness and DOF, IMO, shouldn't be an issue. Other than as said, I think it's not a bad first post.

A big welcome to the BPN family Sir,
Your composition is a little bit under exposed, and too tight in frame. I see allot of noise in the background. you have sharp details and a good head angle, with a good sharp eye...I would run some noise reduction in the background and add just a tad of canvas to the left of the frame...a very good first post....once again, welcome to the family...looking forward to more of your compositions...

Hi, Not sure what your name is or how to address you- but welcome! You have nice details and HA-agree w/ others about exposure and composition-usually you leave more room on the side the bird is looking into-and place him in the rule of thirds, for a better composition- Good job on your first post and the gang will give you lots of help-just keep posting!!!!

Thank you all for the warm welcome. This little guy just popped up while i was shooting the gardens at Gilcrease Museum in Tulsa. Bold, sat there about 8 feet from me without a care that I was there.

I am still working on good exposures. As for background noise I am trying to learn that, all I have now is PSE and Noise Ninja.

I have one more of him I would like to share (assuming it is male :D)

    72mm, ISO 200, F8, 1/640

    PS. Its Russell. :)

Hi Russell, think I like the second one. Smaller in the frame and a little lighter. Might sharpen amd lighten the eye a little.

Russell, it is the norm to use real names at BPN....a moderator may contact you about this, or you could contact a mod and make them aware that you need to change your ID.

I actually like the original post with maybe a little more room to the front of the subject.
Very well exposed and head angle.
    Welcome to BPN Russell
