    Default Cape Cormorant

I was photographing a colony of African Penguins in Betty's Bay in the Western Cape when I noticed a small colony of Cape Cormorants among them. I positioned myself to get them as they returned from their fishing forays to roost for the night. Fortunately the wind and sun was perfect, giving me the opportunity to create images of them coming straight at me.

The gods were smiling with the wind and sun angles on this photo. Like the pose a lot, and the bird really stands out nicely against the BG.

That golden light on the damp feathers is lovely. I like the deployed airbrakes. May clean the ?guano off the right (bird's left) foot.

Great light, pose, details and BG. The plumage looks a bit worn.

Great action. Like the light and the detail in the bird.
