Yesterday hubby and I drove 3 hours to a family Christmas get-together. The weather was extremely foggy for the whole trip. I took quite a lot photos, but saved very few. The images just did not translate well, nor do I know how to adjust them to show how thick and beautiful the fog was.

All photos taken while hubby was driving. No slowing down for photos that day.

would love to hear your comments on the photo and adjusting improvements.

Cheryl, I think you did great for a moving car shot! The only thing I don't like is the inc. of the road-I'd crop and rotate that right out. The fog shows well -the entire image has a high-key look which I like very much-well done!

the original has more of the reflection in the road, which I liked. But there is little reflection left after i rotated it (almost enough). I can see where it is now a distraction instead of a help, especially after even more rotation.

    Hi Cheryl
I too have tried to capture fog images and been disappointed that the intensity of the fog seems to drop way off (my eye sees a dramatic, mysterious landscape shrouded in deep fog and the camera captures light mist). I did manage to get closer to what I was trying to depict by adding white vignetting (at less than 100% opacity). I think I used LR2 for this, but there must be a way to do it in PS. Sorry I can't be more specific.
    Hope this helps a little.
I love that fog when the snow starts to melt.

Also I am wondering if using a larger telephoto would intensify the look of the fogginess between camera and subject/s

I am sure there are lots of more expert folks who could add some comments.

Cheryl, don't know if this is what you had in mind, but all you have to do is keep duplicating your layer in Photoshop. Did this 5 or six times and changed black point (higher) and white point(lower). Will work for any layer that you are working on. (to increase whatever effect you may be working on )
