    Got lucky on Saturday at Ding Darling, Sanibel, FL. Spied this greeny catching his dinner. f/6.3, 1/500, 0 ev, ISO 200, 360mm. Thanks for looking and welcome C&C's. John

    Hi John. I like the basic composition, and you have good eye contact with "dinner." The angle is a little high, and the heron's head is not sharply focused. The sharpest region of the bird is the area of feathers just above the legs. Speaking of the legs, I would try to include all of the bird's right leg if possible. From an exposure standpoint, some of the fish scales are pretty toasty; I would tone them down if possible. Thanks for posting!

    Great catch, I agree regarding softness, partial overexposure and angle and would either crop the bird's right foot entirely or go for a wider crop.
